About our 2026 Jump Start in Dialectical Behavior Therapy

June 1-5, 2026 (In person)

Jump Start in DBT is an intensive, practice-focused training designed to help clinicians learn how to effectively deliver Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) individual psychotherapy. Developed by the Treatment Implementation Collaborative (TIC), this training emphasizes what clinicians actually do in DBT sessions, with a focus on treatment structure, targeting, and clinical decision-making.

This training is appropriate for clinicians new to DBT, clinicians seeking a structured refresher in DBT individual psychotherapy, and those working toward DBT certification requirements.

Grounded in behavioral principles, the training provides a clear framework for applying DBT with clients presenting with high-risk behaviors and complex clinical needs. Participants learn to structure DBT individual therapy sessions, conduct behavioral chain analyses, prioritize treatment targets, and apply core DBT strategies such as validation, dialectics, commitment strategies, and contingency management.

Upon registration, participants will receive access to TIC’s Back Into the Book and DBT Skills Training Masterclass on-demand materials. Completing these modules prior to the week-long intensive is strongly recommended to support readiness and maximize learning during the in-person training.

Continuing Education Credits are available. This training is approved or under review for NASW/CT and meets continuing education requirements for Connecticut licensure.
