SHINE Extended Day Treatment Program
255 Bank Street, Waterbury, CT 06704
SHINE Extended Day Treatment (EDT) Program is designed to help children and adolescents (ages 5 to 17) in the Greater Waterbury area. The program provides therapeutic services for up to 6 months, and clients attend 2-5 days/week, Monday-Friday. The program operates 52 weeks per year, with schedules based around the Waterbury public school calendar.
The program accepts children ages 5-17 who have had difficulties stabilizing in lower levels of care; present with behavioral and emotional problems of moderate severity; and these problems lead to persistent difficulties with peer, sibling, and/or family relationships and their daily functioning.
Our client-centered approach involves the child and caregiver with the formulation of treatment goals and ongoing therapeutic supports. Family and multi-family therapy interventions are scheduled throughout the entire course of treatment. Our office is conveniently located on a city bus route. Transportation services are available for Husky insured clients.

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
233 Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051
MDT is a team of collaborating agencies across the state that works with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to assess high risk children placed out of state and works to bring them back to Connecticut. The Central Connecticut MIT has been in existence for over a decade and reviews approximately 100 cases of criminal level child physical and sexual abuse annually. The team meets weekly in New Britain and Bristol and works to provide services to victims and their families, as well as provides a forum for DCF, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other community providers to follow a case until it is resolved.
