Throughout July, CMHA hosted Advocacy Unlimited's Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) classes at our Waterbury Outpatient facility. CMHA understands the importance of Recovery Support Specialists and shares Advocacy Unlimited's commitment to developing and promoting Peer Support Specialists. CMHA's Chief Program Officer Victor Incerti was invited to stand before their graduating class to offer congratulations and recognition of their accomplishments.
Peer Support Specialists are important contributors at CMHA as they are able to connect with individuals who may be struggling along their path to Recovery in ways only a person with similar experiences can. Their ability and willingness to share their lived experience to instill hope in people is something unique to the Mental Health and Recovery field that should be celebrated.
Thanks to Advocacy Unlimited and good luck to this class of Peers as they embark upon their new careers to promote positive change and Recovery!
